Carrie Raphael

I fell hard for this Victorian farmhouse in Maryland belonging to designer Carrie Raphael when I spotted it onSimply Seleta. I just love the Swedish style used here. There are so many great details...the painted floor, slipcovers, the benches, the church window...love it all. You can check out more images from this home onCountry Living, and be sure to check out Carrie Raphael's site for lots more Victorian inspiration, and to see her collection of custom designed, vintage inspired pieces for sale.

Oh So Pretty

The painted shelves in this dining room photographed by Donna Griffith really highlight the beautiful collection of white dishes. I can't even imagine how boring it would look if it was just painted white. The loveliness is only heightened with the matching blue chairs. So pretty!

Robin's Egg for All

Maybe it's just me, but I think pretty much any room is 10 times prettier with a shade of robin's egg blue on the wall. I love the combinations of blues, paired with the bright greens in these photographs by Eric Roth. All so cheerful and relaxed! The top image is my fav though. I love the white built-ins showing off those great collections. And the blue furniture. Love turquoise and blue together.

And thank you so much everyone for all your nice comments yesterday. You guys made my day even better than it already was! :)

Turquoise + Chartreuse = FAB!

The Glam Lamb just had a whole post dedicated to chartreuse and turquoise. You all know how much I love my blue and green, so of course I ate it right up. Head over here to check out more fabulous images!

Coastal Gems

It's always a good day when you get to see some work by Jane Coslick! One day I'm going to head to Tybee Island and check out all of these delightful cottages. Did you know that you can rent out one of Jane's very own cottages?99 Steps from the Beach (first several images above) was actually the first cottage that Jane bought on Tybee. The adorable 625-square-foot oceanfront home can be yours for 2 nights, a week, or an entire season! What a true beach experience, porch hammock and all. (See more of my posts on Jane Coslick herehere and here....loveher!)

Summer Fun

Such fun, summery rooms captured by photographer Francesco Lagnese. I imagine a very fun day begins with a breakfast at that colorful nook! Love those light fixtures!

Light and Lovely

I can't get enough of the light streaming in and the pretty colors of these 2 beautiful photographs. The top one of a was taken by photographer Michael Luppino, and the bottom one by Gridley + Graves. Both so simple, but so pretty. The touches of yellow in the top image are really standing out for me, along with the collection of mirrors above the fireplace. So lovely!

Dining in Style

I was so excited to learn about DC designer Sally Steponkus through My Notting Hill. Aren't these dining rooms just beautiful?? The chairs are altogether gorgeous if you ask me. And I LOVE the wallpaper in the last image. Along with the chairs. The chairs!

Flirty and Feminine

I know a lot of other blogs have posted images from this Manhattan town house designed by Jonathan Berger and featured in this month's House Beautiful, but I couldn't resist posting these 2 images. Not surprisingly, this is an all-girl household (you have to check out all the hot pink in the other rooms!). I adore the hand-painted de Gournay wallpaper in the living room. And how fun are the French chairs in the dining room covered in blue leather with pink-dyed cowhide backs?? You must head over to House Beautiful to see the slideshow of the rest of the home!

Steven Gambrel

How fab is this oceanside modernist home designed by Steven Gambrel? The windows are to-die-for! You gotta check out his portfolio for more images of this home (yes, more!). I love all the texture and fabrics used..each room offers up a feast for the eyes. I just have to wonder how huge this house is...there are so many rooms!

So let's have a look at some beautiful country white decorating inspiration.

Life In The Country
Series #10

Here we are again this week, heading into the country for some decorating inspiration and fun fiction!

**For those new to my blog, you will need your imagination....oh and....your wellington boots!**

What a wonderful Christmas and New Years break I had.
So much turkey, so much champagne, so many gifts.  So wonderful.

Creating Entry

This week I will be viewing my new beautiful 300 acre property I just purchased this week in Ireland.

Adare Manor, Ireland

Livestock on the property are sheep and horses.

I am very excited to take a tour for the first time
and of course so glad I have all my blog pals with me to break the new place in.

So I have packed up my bags and off I go.

Accompanying me is my life long friend and financial advisor.
He just simply goes by the name of Ocean.

What a very charming gentleman
and lucky for me he always keeps a sharp eye on my financial assets.
He is so very handsome, and sometimes it is difficult to stay focused when we discuss business.
Would you believe he has asked me to marry him 11 times....I am still thinking on it.
Sigh....what's a girl too do!

As my usual routine when I first arrive on my estates I take a relaxing soak.

What I love the most, a small reading room just off the master bedchamber.
I could spend many an hour here.

You are going to love this sweet little hidden passage way,
..you can only find this kind of treasure in an older house!

Goes directly into a few lovely lounging areas.

I'm excited to take a stroll around the local village.

Like what I bought?

You can never have enough perfume and flowers.

The house is quiet now. My guest will be arriving soon.
This might be a good time to relax with a book and a cup of tea.

As my guest started to arrive, they were all impressed with the beauty of my new home.

Fontainebleau
We headed into the diningroom for dinner.

After a pleasant evening of laughing, chatting and an intense game of chess,
the guests retired to their quarters.

Of course, with all the excitement of a new home,
I had to take one last tour before I retired for the evening.

And a little swim.
